"Ga State's Traditional Leadership in Crisis: Council of Kingmakers Calls for Action"

Story by Fada Amakye
The Council of Kingmakers, custodians of the lawful succession, has risen in unison to defend the sanctity of the Ga State’s traditional leadership against unlawful usurpation. They are calling on the Ghana Traditional Council to suspend Thomas Oka, who they claim has unlawfully occupied the B chief’s stool.
According to Nii Mettle Nuno, the installment of Thomas Oka is said to violate three fundamental pillars of basic succession: the 1941 Succession Agreement, which requires strict rotation among three accredited royal houses; Supreme Court Rulings, which uphold the agreement in its procedures; and Customary Law, which does not permit anyone to become a chief without swearing an oath to the seven royal kingmaker houses.
The continued occupation of the stool by Thomas Oka poses a serious danger, including contempt of court by defying Supreme Court rulings, a threat to peace by inciting litigation and division within the Ga State, and undermining authority by weakening the structure of the Ga State.
The Ga Traditional Council is respectfully called upon to suspend Thomas Okine immediately from all functions and privileges, issue a public declaration of the illegality of his installment, and assist in enforcing strict adherence to the 1941 succession agreement.
By taking these steps, the council can help restore order and stability to the Ga State’s traditional leadership.
