Accra, Ghana – Leaders and representatives from over 57 countries across Africa, the Caribbean, and the wider Black world are set to converge in Accra on November 18-19, 2025, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the 5th Pan-African Congress.

The conference, themed “From Historical Memory to Economic and Political Justice,” aims to forge a collective vision for Africa’s self-rule and dignity. The event will bring together delegates from Pan-African organizations, movements, and individuals to discuss the continent’s present realities, including the pursuit of reparations, economic independence, and the fight against new forms of dependency.

Ghana’s President, H.E John Mahama, is expected to officially launch the conference, which will feature participation from heads of state and high-level dignitaries. The event will produce two major outcomes: a strategic framework for Africa’s sovereignty and prosperity, and the adoption of the Accra Declaration, a unifying statement of purpose capturing the shared vision and practical commitments of the delegates.

The conference is a renewal of the Pan-African spirit, where ideas meet action. It will provide an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of solidarity that link Africa’s past struggles to its present aspirations.

The Pan-African Progressive Front (PPF) is organizing the conference, which is expected to be a historic event in the continent’s journey towards true liberation. The PPF emphasizes that the mission of the conference will not end in Accra, but will continue through coordinated campaigns for Africa’s renaissance.

The event is a call to action for Africa to shape its own destiny in a just and multipolar world. As stated by Kwame Nkrumah, “The independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total liberation of Africa.” The Accra Declaration will affirm that Africa no longer seeks permission to exist, but stands ready to shape its own destiny.
