The organizers of the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPA) say this year’s 10th anniversary celebration will be held in Ghana.

The Executive Producer and African Representative of HAPA, Adeola Odunowo, disclosed this at a press conference.

She explained that HAPA is a platform that bridges the gap between Africa and the global community. It was started in 2017 and has celebrated outstanding creatives and individuals who have done exceptional work in society.

Last year we celebrated in Tanzania for East Africa. This year we are doing Ghana for West Africa, she said.

According to her, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has granted his palace for this year’s celebration. The Ghana edition is dubbed Road to HAPA.

Road to HAPA is a travel-style concept where we take the celebration around the world before the main event in Los Angeles, she added.

African Showcase: The Story of the Ashanti Man

Creators Night, A fusion of Hollywood celebrities and local talents in music, fashion, comedy, art, and film.

The King’s Night: A celebration in honour of Otumfuo and his well-wishers, with royalties expected from different parts of Africa.

Odunowo said the Ghana edition is expected to be the biggest in the 10-year history of HAPA.

She also called on creatives who want to be part of the main awards in Hollywood to submit their works.

“If you have content you want to submit, you can go to http://www.hapawards.com and click on 2026 submissions. Or go to our Instagram and click the link, she said.

She noted that there are many opportunities for local talents from Ghana, Nigeria, and Tanzania to shine on the global stage, adding that being celebrated locally is not enough in this information age.

For Ghana, she said a jury will select 25 outstanding people to be celebrated alongside the Asantehene.
