"Church of Pentecost Abeka District Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness and Empowers Students"

Story by Fada Amakye
The Church of Pentecost Abeka District Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM), in collaboration with the Abeka District Health Workers Guild, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Talk Show in schools. The initiative aimed to educate students about the critical issue of breast cancer awareness and promote prevention and early detection efforts.
During the program, Pastor Samuel Mireku Kesse, District Pastor for the Abeka Church of Pentecost, imparted a spiritually meaningful message from the Bible, emphasizing the importance of obedience to parents and respect for elderly individuals.
Mrs. Nancy Eshun, Palliative Nurse Specialist at Korlebu Teaching Hospital, provided valuable information and guidance on breast cancer awareness and self-screening methods. Her presentation empowered students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform self-examinations.
The church also donated essential school supplies, including pens and sanitary pads, to support the students’ educational journey. The sanitary pads will help ensure that girls attend classes comfortably and with dignity.
Through this initiative, the Church of Pentecost Abeka District seeks to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are aware of their health, community responsibilities, and moral obligations. The program demonstrates the church’s commitment to empowering students and promoting health awareness in the community.
