"E-Procurement: A Key to Transparency and Efficiency in Ghana's Public Procurement System"

The Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has urged Ghanaians to embrace electronic procurement (e-procurement) to enhance transparency, reduce corruption, and boost productivity. He made this call at the 11th Public Procurement Forum 2025 in Accra, which brought together stakeholders in the finance sector. The theme for this year’s event is “Enhancing Transparency, Efficiency, and Effectiveness in Public Procurement.”
Thomas Nyarko Ampem emphasized that e-procurement has the potential to save time, increase efficiency, promote participation, and create employment opportunities.
According to him, the move will rebuild a procurement system that is transparent. He encouraged Ghanaians to take advantage of e-procurement to promote transparency and accountability in public procurement.
Basil Ahiable, Board Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority, Ghana, also encouraged Ghanaians to take advantage of e-procurement.
By adopting e-procurement, Ghana can take a significant step towards promoting transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public procurement, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic growth and development.
