President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Ghana Police Service for their efforts in maintaining law and order, saying they are doing a “good job” in tackling highway robbers, bank robbers, and other criminals. He made the remarks while handing over 40 advanced armored vehicles to the police service.

The vehicles, comprising 15 armored pickups, 5 Cobra 4, and 20 Cobra 3 special armored vehicles, are part of the government’s efforts to retool and modernize the security agencies. President Mahama promised that more equipment would be provided to the police to enhance their operations.

“You can hide anywhere, but we’ll come after you,” President Mahama said, urging the police to continue their good work. He also announced plans to provide additional resources, including tow trucks, covert operational vehicles, and drones for urban surveillance.

The President emphasized that the government would ensure the police are equipped with the necessary tools to carry out their duties safely and effectively. He also paid tribute to police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, saying their sacrifices would not be in vain.
