Story by Fada Amakye

The Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM) is poised to supply uniforms for the country’s security services, following an initiative by the Ministry of Trade. National Coordinator Nana Poquah A.A Adiamah expressed excitement about the opportunity, highlighting the association’s capabilities and international certifications.

AGAM represents large-scale manufacturers producing various products, including fashion and industrial wear. The association has been in dialogue with the Ministry and is ready to meet the security services’ high expectations for quality, timeline, and standards.

The initiative starts with uniforms for the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, which will now be produced locally. AGAM members have the capacity, expertise, and experience to deliver, with some companies operating for over two to three decades.

Adiamah emphasized Ghana’s readiness to manufacture clothing, apparel, and textiles for corporate offices, homes, and private use, urging stakeholders to support local businesses. “Let’s keep the money here in Ghana,” she said.
