“Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy Initiative: Leveraging MDPI as the critical drive for successful implementation.

The implementation of a 24-hour economy in Ghana is expected to have a significant impact on job creation and productivity. Speaking at The Leadership Dialogue on the theme: Innovating for Growth: Adapting Business Models to Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy, held at Accra Marriott Hotel.

Professor Elijah Yendaw, Director-General of the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), outlined some of the fundamental benefits of the 24-hour economy to all citizens, businesses, and growth in the Ghanaian economy as a whole.

Professor Yendaw, in his submissions, mentioned MDPI as the oldest agency under the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment and touted it as the premier national productivity institute with the requisite capacity to support the drive towards the 24-hour economy’s goals and objectives.

He drew the attention of the 24-Hour Economy Stakeholders to the legal mandate of MDPI to support both public and private sector organizations nationwide with Management Consultancy and Advisory services, Management Training and development, and Management policy Research.

Prof. Yendaw chronicled the success story of MDPI as the backbone to many organizations in terms of Management growth and development through cutting-edge capacity-building training and strategic coaching programs.

Prof. Yendaw emphasized three key areas that need early attention, which MDPI is always prepared to help with: mindset overhaul, attitudinal change, and building patriotism. In his conclusion, he stated that no developing country can achieve a 24-hour economy effectively without resetting and shifting minds, along with a positive attitude towards work, and therefore pledges MDPI’s full support for the 24-hour economy secretariat.
