The Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs in Ghana, led by Director Kofi Okyere-Darko, is encouraging members of the diaspora to invest in the country’s socio-economic growth and participate in national development. The office is organizing a National Diaspora Summit, scheduled for December 19th and 20th, which will bring together diasporans from across the world to discuss investment opportunities and contribute to the country’s growth.

The Director emphasized that the office is looking beyond remittances and encouraging diasporans to invest in Ghana’s economy. “We are looking at you coming back to invest, be you a doctor, or a group of people in the Ghanaian community, be it in Nigeria, England, Tobago, or wherever,” he said. The office wants diasporans to take advantage of the country’s favorable investment climate and contribute to its socio-economic growth.

The Director also announced the launch of the Blackstar Experience, an initiative aimed at making Ghana a destination throughout the year. “You don’t need December to come,” he said. “We want you to come and invest in Ghana, and take something with you. We want you to be part of our nation-building and be intentional with our socio-economic growth.”

The National Diaspora Summit will provide a platform for diasporans to engage with the government and other stakeholders on investment opportunities and national development. The summit will be chaired by President Muhammad, and the Vice President will also be in attendance.

The Director emphasized that Ghana is the go-to place for investment in Africa, citing the country’s stable political climate, accommodating nature, and strategic location. “Africa has been the go-to place, and not just Africa, but Ghana,” he said. “We always say Ghana is the gateway to Africa.”

The Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs is committed to encouraging investment and participation from the diaspora in Ghana’s national development. The National Diaspora Summit and the Blackstar Experience are initiatives aimed at promoting investment and tourism in the country. The office is inviting diasporans to take advantage of the opportunities available in Ghana and contribute to the country’s socio-economic growth.
