The Head of Corporate Communications for Metro Mass Transit Limited, Mohammed Mubarak Watara, has acknowledged the struggles faced by passengers at bus stops, citing poor bus conditions as a major challenge. However, he announced that 100 new buses will be launched this year to improve services and expand routes. This initiative aims to address the current gaps in transportation, particularly for vulnerable passengers who rely on affordable transport to get to work or home.
Speaking at a press engagement, Watara expressed concern for these passengers, saying they’re committed to addressing these issues and providing a better experience.
The move is expected to enhance Metro Mass’s operational capacity, serving remote areas better and reducing congestion on busy routes. Watara noted that the new buses will help alleviate the pressure on existing services, allowing passengers to navigate the city with more ease and accessibility.
The announcement comes as politicians, like Ayawaso West Wougon MP John Dumelo, take steps to aid stranded commuters. Recently, Hon Dumelo provided transit support to help workers in his constituency reach their destinations, highlighting the need for reliable transportation options. Metro Mass aims to step up its game, providing dependable services that cater to the growing demands of Ghana’s commuting public.
With the new buses, Metro Mass expects to improve its services, expand its reach, and contribute to a more efficient transportation system.
The initiative is seen as a positive step towards addressing the challenges faced by commuters, and it’s expected to make a significant impact on daily travel experiences. As Ghana’s population continues to grow, investments in transportation infrastructure are crucial, and Metro Mass’s efforts are a move in the right direction.
