“Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Launches Investment Opportunity Mapping Project”

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), led by CEO Simon Madjie, has launched the Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP), an initiative aimed at documenting investment prospects across all 261 districts of Ghana. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, and other partners.

The IOMP has several objectives, including identifying and documenting investment prospects, promoting inclusive development, and mobilizing both local and foreign investment.

The project seeks to promote inclusive development by highlighting investment opportunities in various regions, thereby reducing the concentration of investment in a few urban centers. It also aims to mobilize both local and foreign investment, providing opportunities for Ghanaians with financial resources to invest in the country.

:The IOMP is rooted in several core pillars, including:

1.A comprehensive effort to identify and document investment opportunities across all districts in Ghana.

2.High-level forums to spotlight regional opportunities and promote a more equitable distribution of foreign direct investment across Ghana.

3.Tailored presentations and investment pitches for regional ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives, traditional authorities, and influential leaders.

4.Establishing a physical presence in key regions to enhance accessibility, service delivery, and real-time information sharing with stakeholders.

5.An initiative designed to equip ministers and heads of departments with tailored investment page presentations aligned with specific mandates and sector priorities.

6.An initiative aimed at positioning Ghana’s foreign missions as frontline ambassadors of Ghana’s investment promotion efforts.

7.A digital, user-friendly, and accessible mobile application that will showcase investment opportunities across all districts and regions.

The GIPC also aims to target pitches to showcase key projects under the 24-hour Economy Initiative, including the Dear Water Economic Corridor. The initiative seeks to attract strategic partners and investments into identified projects under the 24-hour economy. Additionally, the GIPC plans to organize a global investment summit associated with Ghana, bringing together investors and stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in the country.

By launching the IOMP, the GIPC aims to document investment prospects across all 261 districts of Ghana, promote inclusive development, and mobilize both local and foreign investment. By establishing a physical presence in key regions and equipping ministers and heads of departments with tailored investment page presentations, the GIPC aims to enhance accessibility and service delivery. The project will also involve a diplomatic investment drive and the creation of an investment opportunity app.
