Don't Give Up: Mayor Urges Ghana's Youth to Stay Focused

Story by Fada Amakye

Eugene K. Mayor, Managing Director of Nikao Pets Control, has inspired young Ghanaians to persevere through life’s challenges. Speaking at the inauguration of a new Nikao Pets Control branch in Accra, he shared his own experience of starting a business during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating resilience and creativity. Mayor emphasized the importance of staying open to growth opportunities and viewing ventures like his as legitimate corporate institutions.

He praised government initiatives providing youth employment and expressed concern about young people wasting time on unproductive social media pursuits. “Although there may be times when life does not unfold according to one’s expectations or desires, it is crucial to maintain a mindset that remains open to new possibilities and opportunities for growth,” Mayor said.

Mayor’s message is clear: with determination and the right mindset, Ghana’s youth can overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Nikao Pets Control’s expansion is a testament to this philosophy. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to explore various sectors, including pet control, and not limit themselves to traditional industries like finance or hospitality.

The inauguration event highlighted Nikao Pets Control’s commitment to creating opportunities and contributing to Ghana’s economic growth. Mayor’s advice resonates with many young Ghanaians seeking to make their mark. “It’s not about where you start, but where you’re headed,” he noted.
