Empowering Women, Enriching Lives: Ohemaa Queen Mother Franca Ani Leads the Charge

Ohemaa Queen Mother Franca Ani, President of NIDO Women Ghana Chapter and TWOT Ghana, has emphasized the importance of empowering women to achieve successful marriages and lives. Speaking at an event celebrating International Women’s Day, she highlighted the challenges faced by women in intermarital relationships, particularly those married to foreigners.
Mrs. Ani stressed the need for women to understand themselves and their partners before marriage, citing cultural differences and communication gaps as common issues. She encouraged women to support and mentor each other, saying, “When you give, you gain and you flourish.” This mantra resonated with attendees, who shared their own experiences and challenges in navigating marriage and cultural differences.
The event aimed to bring women together, share experiences, and provide guidance on navigating marriage challenges. Mrs. Ani, a Nigerian married to a Ghanaian, shared her own experiences and emphasized the importance of understanding and communication in marriage. She noted that marriage is a new venture, and couples must work together to overcome obstacles.
NIDO Women Ghana Chapter’s mission includes empowering women, taking girl children off the streets, and promoting education and development. The organization collaborates with other groups to achieve these goals and support women in need. Mrs. Ani highlighted the organization’s efforts to support women in various ways, including providing resources and mentorship.
The event featured discussions on navigating cultural differences, communication, and conflict resolution in marriages. Attendees engaged in lively discussions, sharing their own experiences and seeking advice from Mrs. Ani and other panelists.
The event concluded with a call to action, encouraging women to support and empower each other to build stronger, more resilient communities.
