Ghana Launches Free Sanitary Pad Distribution Initiative.

The government of Ghana, under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, has launched a free sanitary pad distribution initiative to basic school students across the country.

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, said, the initiative aims to improve menstrual hygiene management among girls, reduce absenteeism and stigma, and support the overall well-being and academic performance of girls.

:Improving Menstrual Hygiene: According to Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, the initiative will provide free sanitary pads to girls in basic schools, addressing a major health issue affecting girls of reproductive age.
