Ghanaian Apparel Manufacturers Ready to Deliver Uniforms for Security Services

The Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM) is poised to supply uniforms for the country’s security services, following an initiative by the  Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry. National Coordinator Nana Poquah A.A Adiamah expressed excitement about the opportunity, highlighting the association’s capabilities, readiness and international certifications.

AGAM represents large-scale manufacturers producing various products, including fashion, uniforms and industrial wear. The association has been in dialogue with the Ministry and is ready to meet the security services’ high expectations for quality, timeliness, and standards.

The initiative starts with uniforms for the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, which will now be produced locally. AGAM members have the capacity, expertise, and experience to deliver, with some companies operating for over two to three decades both in the local and international markets.

Nana Poquah emphasized Ghana’s readiness to manufacture clothing, apparel, garments and textiles for corporate, private and industrial usage, urging stakeholders to support local businesses.

“Let’s keep the investment here in Ghana and grow Ghana,” she said.AGAM is a leading voice representing the Ghanaian apparel, garments and textiles sector in the advocacy for local production per international standards and procurement; through a sustainable process.
