Minister Urges Forestry Commission to Protect Ghana’s Natural Resource

Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has emphasized the critical role of the Forestry Commission in protecting Ghana’s forest and wildlife resources. Speaking during a visit, he highlighted the importance of preserving these resources for future generations.

The Minister acknowledged the numerous challenges facing the Forestry Commission, including,

Illegal Mining

A significant threat to Ghana’s forests and wildlife

Illegal Logging

Another major concern for the Forestry Commission is Inadequate Funding and Logistics Challenges that hinder the Commission’s effectiveness.

Government’s Commitment

Hon. Buah assured the Forestry Commission of the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges. He emphasized the need for hard work, integrity, and commitment to achieving the noble goal of preserving Ghana’s natural resources.

Resetting Ghana Agenda
The Minister introduced the “Resetting Ghana” agenda, which aims to promote democracy, integrity, and hard work. He encouraged the Forestry Commission to align with this agenda and work towards implementing policies that benefit Ghana.
