Story by Fada Amakye

World Vision Ghana has launched its new strategy, “Hope for Every Child”, a comprehensive plan aimed at reaching 2.8 million children over the next five years. The strategy focuses on protecting and empowering children, with ambitious goals to ensure they are educated, healthy, protected, and actively participating in their communities.

The strategy is built on four, interlinked pillars: impact, funding, operational excellence, and people, learning, and growth. Dr. Tinah Mukunda, National Director of World Vision Ghana, emphasized that the strategy is a result of extensive consultations, research, and reflection, designed to respond to changing environments and vulnerability levels of children.

According to Dr. Mukunda, the organization has been operating in Ghana for 47 years, with a presence in 43 districts and 14 regions. World Vision Ghana works closely with communities, government, and partners to build structures and provide essential services, aiming to create a lasting impact on the lives of children.

The new strategy, “Hope for Every Child”, is centered around creating opportunities that protect and empower every child. “We are looking at opportunities that should be able to protect and empower every child,” Dr. Mukunda said. “We are a child-focused organization, community-empowering, and we work in areas of development, relief, and transformation.”

The strategy’s goals include ensuring children are educated for life, enjoy good health, are protected from harm, and are actively participating in their communities. “They are able to be educated for life, enjoy good health, are protected, are nurtured, and are participating,” Dr. Mukunda explained.

World Vision Ghana plans to leverage its partnerships with communities, government, and other organizations to achieve its goals and create a resilient environment for children to thrive. The organization is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and contributing to a brighter future for Ghana.
