The Ghana Hotels Association, in collaboration with Orangeplus Media and Events, recently launched the International Housekeeping Week 2025 at the Lancaster Hotel in Accra.

The event was themed “Housekeeping: Everything We Touch is Awesome” and aimed to recognize and appreciate the hardworking housekeepers in the hospitality industry.

According to Clare Banoeng-Yakubo, Chairperson of the Ghana Hotels Association, the program was successful in meeting its objectives.

The association emphasized the importance of housekeepers in ensuring that hotels provide a clean and serene environment for guests. The association will discuss remuneration, appreciation, and recognition for housekeepers with hotel owners, shareholders, and directors.

The Ghana Hotels Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a year-long celebration, including a symposium in the Central Region on the theme “50 Years of Advocacy, Perseverance, and Impacting Ghana’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry” and honorary awards in January to recognize outstanding contributions to the industry. The association will also encourage hotels to prioritize appreciation programs for housekeepers and other staff members.

By celebrating International Housekeeping Week 2025 and its 50th anniversary, the Ghana Hotels Association demonstrates its commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of hospitality professionals in Ghana.
