The Church of Pentecost’s Transformation Purpose Abeka district School Outreach Ministry, led by Deacon Francis Brown, Abeka District School Outreach Ministry Leader, recently visited St. Lawrence School Complex with a mission to educate students about breast cancer and provide essential support. In collaboration with Abeka district Health Workers Guild, Abeka district Women Ministry and Abeka district Youth Ministry , the team conducted a comprehensive outreach program aimed at transforming the school community.
During the visit, the team delivered a breast cancer talk show that was both informative and engaging.
Both talk show show were delivered by Dcns’s Nancy Eshen A nurse palliative specialist from korle bu hospital And Dcns’s Abigail Brown General nurse at usher hospital .The students were given the opportunity to learn about the importance of breast health, the risks associated with breast cancer, and the steps they can take to protect themselves. The presentation was well-received, with students actively participating and asking thoughtful questions.
In addition to the health education, the church team also made a generous donation to the school by the Abeka district women ministry-led by Dcnss Vida Birikorang -with support by the Abeka area women ministry Asistance leader Dnss Gifty’s Danso and Abeka district pastor s wife Mrs Doreen mireku kesse donates Sanitary pads and pens to the students, providing them with essential resources to support their health and education. This act of kindness was met with gratitude. The students were visibly happy and appreciative, and the event served as a reminder of the importance of community support and care.
The Abeka district school outreach ministry executive member Dcn Joseph Annor also delivered a sermon on the topic (go and tell)to the student which mark the National youth celebration of youth of the district
The outreach program is part of the Church of Pentecost’s ongoing initiative to reach out to schools and communities, promoting education, health, and spiritual growth. Deacon Francis Brown expressed his desire to continue visiting schools and sharing their message, praying for the opportunity to reach more students in the future.
This event is a testament to the church’s dedication to making a positive impact in the community, particularly in the area of health awareness and education.
