Chairmanship race: I’m ready to stand, fight and deliver for NPP, says Wontumi

Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the party needs renewed courage, energy and strong grassroots leadership as it prepares for future political battles.

on Wednesday (20 May), the outspoken regional chairman, widely known as Chairman Wontumi, said the NPP must focus on rebuilding its internal structures and mobilising supporters at the base.

He said the party’s success in upcoming elections would depend on discipline, organisation and strong leadership from within the grassroots.

“The NPP needs courage, energy, and grassroots leadership for the battles ahead,” he wrote.

Wontumi, who has declared interest in contesting for the party’s national chairmanship position, said he is ready to lead the charge to reposition the party.

He added that the task ahead required commitment to rebuilding structures and restoring the party’s strength after its recent electoral challenges.

“Chairman Wontumi has proven he is ready to stand, fight, and deliver for the Party,” the post said.

He described the party’s mission as clear, calling for unity and a focused effort to reorganise and regain political power.

“The mission is clear; rebuild, reorganize, and reclaim victory,” he said.
