Hon. Elikplem Akurugu, Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, has called on young people to consider farming as a viable and promising opportunity, urging them to explore its potential for sustainable livelihoods and financial independence.

Speaking at the 41st National Farmers Day celebration in her constituency, Hon. Akurugu emphasized her commitment to supporting young farmers, inviting them to present their proposals and visions to her office for guidance and resources. She highlighted the success stories of farmers in her constituency and encouraged the youth to take advantage of the opportunities available in the agricultural sector.

The event honored Mr. Joseph Gbologah as the overall best farmer in the Ga East Municipal Assembly, recognizing his dedication to sustainable farming practices and commitment to agricultural development. Mr. Gbologah expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from the Assembly and the government, citing the provision of agricultural chemicals as a significant boost to his farming activities.

Hon. Akurugu’s message aimed to inspire young people to explore farming as a practical way to achieve financial independence and personal fulfillment, promoting agricultural development and food security in the community. She emphasized the importance of agriculture in Ghana’s economy and encouraged the youth to contribute to the country’s development through farming.
