"Okaikwei North MP Embarks on Health Screening Project for Constituents"

Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, has launched a health screening project in La Paz, within her constituency. This initiative is part of her ongoing efforts to prioritize the health and well-being of her constituents.

This is not the first time Hon. Awuni has organized a health screening project. Since 2020, she has conducted several screenings across the constituency, including in Achimota College, Niboima, La Pass, Akwetema, Aluboshi, Christian Village, and Kopee. The project aims to provide easy access to health services for constituents, particularly women who are often busy with work and family responsibilities.

The health screening project offers a range of services, including:

-Hepatitis B testing
-HIV testing
-Diabetes testing
-Typhoid and malaria testing

Hon. Awuni emphasized the importance of knowing one’s health status in order to take proactive steps towards prevention and treatment.

The MP’s office has partnered with the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (Masloc) to provide loan services to constituents. Masloc will offer loans to market women, with Hon. Awuni serving as a guarantor. She expressed confidence in the reliability and trustworthiness of her constituents, citing their track record of repaying loans.

When asked about the risks associated with guaranteeing loans for constituents, Hon. Awuni stated that she is not deterred, citing her experience as an opposition MP and the trust she has built with her constituents. She emphasized her commitment to serving the people of Okaikwei North and ensuring their well-being.
