The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly has concluded the 2025 National Sanitation Exercise with a major clean-up drive in the Lapaz, Abofu, and Achimota areas. The exercise, which started at 7 am and ended at 12 pm, was part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing public health and environmental sustainability across the nation.

Hon Christian Tetteh Badger, the Municipal Chief Executive for Okaikwei North, led the exercise, which involved a dedicated team of staff members from the assembly. The team worked tirelessly to sanitize the major highway running through the busy areas, clearing litter and debris, and disinfecting public spaces.

In an interview with the media, Hon Badger highlighted the importance of the exercise, saying it was part of a broader directive from the Presidency to improve public hygiene and ensure a clean and healthy environment for all citizens.

“This initiative is crucial in our efforts to promote public health and environmental sustainability,” Hon Badger said. “We are committed to ensuring that our city remains clean and beautiful, and we urge all citizens to join us in this effort.”

The assembly has also announced plans to maintain the cleanliness of the city, with a strategic schedule of day and night shifts planned for the upcoming Christmas season. Hon Badger urged community members to participate in maintaining health and hygiene standards, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in public spaces.
