The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has successfully completed a two-week practical training programme for newly recruited caterers in the Volta, Oti, and Bono Regions, aimed at strengthening programme implementation and improving the quality of meals served to beneficiary schoolchildren.

The training equipped caterers with practical skills on the effective utilisation of locally produced foodstuffs, promoting local agriculture and ensuring nutritious meals. Participants were also trained in food hygiene and safety, nutrition, portion control, and proper kitchen maintenance.

This initiative is part of the GSFP’s efforts to enhance service delivery, promote high standards of hygiene and nutrition, and support local economic development. The Programme’s National Coordinator, Hajia Fati Forgor, expressed appreciation to stakeholders, including Women in Agricultural Development, the Ghana Education Service, and other partners, for their support in the training.

The GSFP remains committed to providing safe, nutritious, and adequate meals for all beneficiary pupils nationwide. The Programme wishes stakeholders and Ghanaians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

The training is expected to improve the overall quality of meals served to schoolchildren, contributing to their health and well-being. The GSFP will continue to engage with stakeholders to ensure the success of the programme.
