Trust Is Our True Test – Alhaji Seidu Agongo At Launch Of Accra TV

Story by Fada Amakye

The Founder of Class Media Group, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, says trust remains the foundation of every successful relationship and the most valuable asset of any media organization.

Speaking at the launch of Accra TV, Alhaji Agongo said he was grateful to the staff and audience of Class Media Group whose love, hard work, dedication and belief have kept the group in business through turbulent and calm times.

He said beyond the excitement of a new station, it was important to reflect on trust, which he described as what allows citizens to believe in leaders, employees to believe in employers, businesses to believe in customers, and communities to believe in one another.

According to him, trust has come under extreme strain in recent times, with citizens questioning the motives of leaders and employers worrying about loyalty, while people increasingly ask who and what to believe.

Alhaji Agongo noted that the challenge of our time is not lack of information, but determining what is credible, transparent and true, and that is where the media comes in as the bridge between institutions and the people.

He stressed that trust cannot be demanded, but must be earned through accuracy, fairness, consistency and accountability, by verifying before publishing, informing rather than inflaming, and having the courage to correct errors.

“At Class Media Group, our most valuable asset has not been our studios, cameras or transmitters. Our most valuable asset has been and will continue to be our credibility,” he said.

He said the real litmus test of trust is not what is done when things are easy, but what is done when transparency is difficult.

Alhaji Agongo assured stakeholders, especially audiences and viewers, that Accra TV will be a trusted platform for facts, dialogue and accountability that listens, informs and serves.

He concluded that when trust grows, societies prosper, businesses succeed, and democracy flourishes.
