Delta Air Lines Boosts Girls’ Empowerment with $250,000 Sponsorship

Junior Achievement Africa’s Girls Empowerment Initiative is set to expand its reach and impact, thanks to a significant $250,000 sponsorship from Delta Air Lines.

The initiative, which brought together 52 girls from seven countries this year, aims to empower young women by building their confidence and helping them realize their potential.

Through six days of intensive workshops, participants learned from female leaders and industry experts about key business topics such as branding, finance, marketing, and communications.

A highlight of the program was the CAPS project, where girls developed community-based projects to address pressing issues in their neighborhoods, including mental health awareness, feminism, and access to STEM education and careers.

With Delta Air Lines’ increased funding, the initiative will be able to expand its programming and reach even more young women in the coming year.

“We’re thrilled to increase our support for this game-changing program,” said Ronke Adebe, Director of International Government Affairs and Policy at Delta Air Lines. “Empowering young girls is crucial, and we’re proud to be part of this effort.”

The Girls Empowerment Initiative is poised to have an even greater impact in the years to come, providing opportunities for young women to develop their skills, build their confidence, and realize their full potential.
