“Ghana Police Rescue Kidnapped Victims, Investigate Murder Cases”
The Ghana Police Service has announced the rescue of three kidnapped victims who were held captive in Nigeria. The victims were received by the police and Ghana Immigration Service at the Kotoka International Airport.
The police, led by DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, successfully rescued the three victims, who appeared to be in good health. The victims were debriefed at the police headquarters, where they recounted their ordeal.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping case, with one being a Chinese national.
:Murder Investigation:
The police are also investigating a murder case in which five people were shot dead at ISI Yawn near Sawong on April 29, 2025.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was a result of a confrontation between two groups over a winning issue.
Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder case, with four being remanded into prison custody and one into police custody.
:Commendation:
The police have commended the diligence and vigilance of their officers, who arrested three people for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition, which led to a breakthrough in the murder investigation.
