This Is His Moment”: Freddy Blay Backs Wontumi for NPP National Chairmanship

Former New Patriotic Party National Chairman Freddy Blay has declared his support for Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the race for the NPP national chairmanship.

The endorsement came during a private meeting at Blay’s residence, where he hosted Wontumi and members of his campaign team.

Blay commended the “solid team” assembled by Wontumi’s campaign and offered personal accolades to each member present. He described his endorsement as “sincere” and pledged to back Wontumi “every step of the way.

“This is the time for Chairman Wontumi. This is his moment. He is the man of the moment,” Blay said.

The former chairman also addressed Wontumi’s ongoing court cases, praying for “strength, endurance and perseverance” and offering blessings and counsel.

The two discussed campaign strategy, with Blay highlighting key regions that require focus, including Greater Accra and Eastern Region.

The meeting signals a significant show of support for Wontumi from one of the party’s senior figures as he navigates both internal party contests and legal challenges.
