Early Days: Mr. Sampson reflected on his experience in the industry, noting that when he started, hotels were not seen as attractive investment opportunities, and people had a negative perception of the industry. Encouraging Investment: He shared his personal experience of encouraging people to invest in the hotel industry, even designing hotels free of charge to support potential investors.
Tourism Development Fund
Support for Industry Growth: Mr. Sampson assured that the GTA is working on the Tourism Development Fund, which is intended to support industry growth and development.
Clarification on Fund Contribution: He clarified that the 1% contribution to the fund comes from patrons, not hotels, emphasizing the importance of understanding the source of the contribution.
