The Melcom Group of Companies has raised over 8,500 units of blood in its 10-year blood donation drive, a gesture that has saved countless lives across Ghana. According to Mr. Ramesh Sadwani, Group Managing Director of Melcom Group, the company’s commitment to blood donation is rooted in its values of giving back to the community.
Melcom Group has been organizing annual blood donation drives for the past decade, with the support of the National Blood Service. The company’s philanthropic arm, the Melcom Care Foundation, has also donated blood and vaccine refrigerators to public hospitals and clinics, with a total of 45 refrigerators donated so far.
This year’s blood drive will take place at 30 Melcom stores nationwide, as well as four schools that have partnered with the company. The schools include the Accra Academy, Ashaiman Senior High School, Apam Senior High School, and Gamoa Senior High Technical School. The blood drive will start on July 23rd and end on July 26th.
Mr. Sadwani has urged the public to support the blood drive and encourage others to donate blood. He emphasized that all donors will undergo medical screening before donating and will be properly taken care of.
