A Single Finger Cannot Tie a Knot”: SIF Deputy CEO Prosper Puo-Ire Rallies Partners to Tackle Funding Gaps, Vulnerabilities

The Social Investment Fund (SIF) has called on development partners, government, and citizens to unite in addressing Ghana’s pressing challenges of funding gaps and social vulnerabilities, saying collective action is the only way to deliver results for youth and women.
Speaking on behalf of SIF Chief Executive Officer at a stakeholders’ gathering, Deputy CEO Prosper Puo-Ire said the event marked a moment many had waited for: “a moment that we have all waited for, that we come together as a people with a common purpose of finding a common solution to the teeming issue of funding, to the teeming issue of vulnerabilities and frailties.
He expressed gratitude to the CEO and SIF Chief Officer of Operations, Pastor Noregin, for the opportunity to represent leadership. Puo-Ire stressed that SIF’s commitment to government’s broad development agenda was the reason stakeholders had assembled.
“This morning we are privileged to gather here to put our shoulders to the foil to join the broad vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana and his government to find an amicable solution to this context,” he said.
Quoting a local proverb, he urged collaboration: “A single piece of text cannot weave a large cloth… a single finger is never sufficient to tie a knot. That is why we feel very honored and privileged to have you here, partners in development agencies, honorable ministers, leaders in government, citizens of the Republic of Ghana, young people, women of this republic.
Puo-Ire said the fund’s goal is to see “a drastic reduction in vulnerabilities among our people” and to ensure that investments “blossom to bear fruits, fruits that will position our youth and women at places that they can contribute immensely towards the development of our country.
He concluded by inviting all partners to share openly, noting that SIF remains committed to working with all stakeholders to turn the seeds being sown into tangible development outcomes for marginalized groups across Ghana.
