Richard Nii Amarah Quaye, Founder of the RNA Youth Foundation, has donated GH¢500,000 to the Ministry of Youth to support the fight against opioid abuse in Ghana. The donation was made during a ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters, where Quaye emphasized the need for collective action to address the growing menace of opioid abuse among Ghana’s youth.

A National Threat Quaye, who employs over 4,000 Ghanaian youth with an average age of 26, highlighted the devastating impact of opioid abuse on young people, citing his experiences in other African countries, including Sierra Leone. He noted that Ghana is also on a similar trajectory and that the situation requires urgent attention.

Supporting the Ministry’s Efforts The RNAQ Youth Foundation, which focuses on providing social justice to the deprived, forgotten, and marginalized, has been working to provide 360-degree support to vulnerable communities. The foundation has set up food banks in the Accra region and plans to expand to other regions to provide sustenance to those in need.

Quaye assured the Ministry of Youth of the RNA Youth Foundation’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with the ministry to confront the threat of opioid abuse head-on. The donation of GH¢500,000 is a demonstration of the foundation’s unwavering support for the ministry’s efforts to combat opioid abuse.
