“Shawarma Charity Ball Brings Joy to 5 Hospitals in Accra”

A charity initiative, “Shawarma Charity Ball,” visited five hospitals in Greater Accra to bring smiles to patients’ faces.

According to Tardy Kobby Mensah, Public Relations Officer Said, the event, which started at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC), continued at 37 Military Hospital, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra Children’s Hospital, and Ridge Hospital.

*The Initiative*
He said, the charity aims to provide relief and comfort to patients, particularly children, during their healing process. The organizers distributed shawarma packages, donated by sponsors such as Deloxy Paint, DPS Pipes, Grand Mama Groundnut Paste, and others.

*Impact*
– 700 packages were distributed on the first day
– 300 packages were given out at UGMC
– 300 packages were distributed at 37 Military Hospital
– A total of 5,000 packages are planned for distribution

Tardy Kobby Mensah, Public Relations Officer, added that, the charity plans to continue its efforts next year, pending sponsorship and support. The organizers have received requests to extend their initiative to other locations, including Kumasi.

The charity expresses gratitude to its sponsors, including Deloxy Paint, DPS Pipes, Grand Mama Groundnut Paste, and others, for their contributions to the initiative.
