Agriculture Forum Showcases Benefits of OFA Liquid Fertilizer.

In an agriculture forum held in Ghana, the CEO of HJA Africa, Henry Abraham, highlighted the significant income potential for Ghanaian farmers using tree crops and the organic fertilizer product OFA.

Abraham noted that 40% of Ghana’s workforce is employed in the agriculture sector, and millions depend on it for their livelihoods. He explained that while OFA can help double the incomes of farmers growing staple crops like maize and rice, the benefits are even greater for tree crop farmers.

“Farmers using tree crops may be able to increase their income by 15,000 to 20,000 cedis per acre,” Abraham said. “These are huge sums, both for the farmer and for the country.”

The forum brought together farmers, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, and businesses to discuss the benefits of OFA, a liquid organic fertilizer produced in Ghana. Abraham emphasized the importance of reducing Ghana’s reliance on expensive imported fertilizers by promoting locally-made products like OFA.

To support farmers, Asia Africa has built an infrastructure over the past six to seven years, including a network of regional representatives and over 200 agro input dealers across the country. This ensures that every Ghanaian farmer has reasonable access to OFA and can receive local expertise and advice on its use.

The forum provided a platform for farmers and researchers to share their experiences and perspectives on the positive impact of OFA. Participants discussed the need to address harmful chemical use in agriculture and the potential for OFA to be a sustainable alternative.

Overall, the agriculture forum highlighted the significant economic opportunities for Ghanaian farmers, particularly those growing tree crops, through the use of the locally-produced organic fertilizer OFA.
