The United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) recently celebrated its 78th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in the party’s history. The event was attended by party members and stakeholders, who reflected on the party’s past achievements and challenges.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyemang, delivered a keynote address, calling on party members to rededicate themselves to the party’s founding principles. He emphasized the importance of protecting liberty, defending integrity, and building economies that uplift the public.

The party honored the towering figures who led the path to independence, including George Alfred Grant, Eric E. Williams, and Edward Akufo-Addo. The party also paid tribute to the unsung heroes who made sacrifices for the party’s success.

The Chairman emphasized the need for the party’s rebirth and renewal, citing the importance of excusing individual interests for the wider interest of the party. He encouraged party members to work together to take back what has been lost and to uphold the ideals of the party’s predecessors.

The Chairman addressed the youth of Ghana, urging them to take up the legacy of the UGCC and to protect liberty, defend integrity, and build economies that uplift the public. He emphasized that freedom is not a relic, but a responsibility that requires active participation and engagement.

The UGCC’s 78th anniversary celebration serves as a reminder of the party’s rich history and its commitment to democracy, individual rights, and property ownership.

As the party looks to the future, it must continue to uphold its founding principles and work towards a brighter future for Ghana.
