The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, has highlighted the institution’s achievements and plans to enhance road safety. Speaking in an interview, Kotey noted that the DVLA has made significant strides in aligning its operations with government policies and priorities.
Key achievements include the registration of earth-moving equipment at ports of entry, with over 10,000 equipment registered last year.
The DVLA has also introduced a new registration numbering system for number plates, designed and implemented in-house. Additionally, the institution has increased revenue generation, with the lowest monthly revenue increasing from 1,000 cedis to 10,000 cedis.
The DVLA has also addressed a backlog of license issues, printing around 4,000 licenses, and commissioned offices, including a 24-hour service center. The institution plans to continue improving services, with the establishment of more regional offices.
Kotey expressed gratitude to the board, management, and staff for their support, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and public accountability. The DVLA aims to continue enhancing road safety and providing efficient services to the public.
