“Ghana to Construct Gas Processing Plant, Create 1500 Jobs”
The Minister for Energy, Hon. John Jinapor, has announced plans to construct a gas processing plant in Ghana, which is expected to generate significant economic benefits and create around 1500 direct and indirect jobs.
The plant will help increase gas consumption, reduce the country’s reliance on Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and save the country close to $500 million every year.
The plant will process gas and produce Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), condensates, and other valuable products.
The project is expected to generate around 1500 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the country’s economic development. The use of gas as an alternative to other energy sources is expected to save the country close to $500 million every year.
A steering committee has been established to provide strategic oversight for the project, chaired by the Minister of Energy and the Minister of Finance.
A technical committee has also been established to handle the day-to-day operations of the project. The gas processing plant will help increase Ghana’s energy security by providing a stable source of gas for power generation and other uses.
The project is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including job creation and savings from reduced energy costs.
The Minister emphasized the importance of state ownership of the project, citing the need to reduce the country’s reliance on IPPs.
