New African Concept Marks 5 Years of Empowering Leadership and Transforming Mindsets

Story by Fada Amakye

Dr. Joseph Oppong, Executive Director of New African Concept, reflects on the organization’s five-year milestone, highlighting key achievements and future plans. The organization has piloted a leadership training phase, “Lead World Scholar,” and conducted various projects, including social relief initiatives and training sessions for schools and communities.

Dr. Oppong emphasizes that Africa’s root problem lies in its value systems, citing a “mindset problem” that hinders progress. He argues that addressing symptoms rather than the core issue will not yield lasting transformation.

Looking ahead, New African Concept has lined up several activities, including a book launch on February 22nd and an independence lecture on Ghana’s Independence Day. The lecture will diagnose Ghana and Africa’s challenges and propose solutions. The organization will also host grand derbas in Kumasi and Accra in November and December, respectively.

Dr. Oppong’s vision is to rewrite Africa’s script by transforming mindsets and value systems, paving the way for effective leadership and sustainable development.
